YES MoU Signing Ceremony

An MOU signing ceremony was held at Lahore College for Women University on Monday 28th August, 2017. The ceremony was organized by the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization, LCWU with Youth Engagement Services (YES) Network Pakistan at Syndicate Hall of LCWU. The MOU signed by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. UzmaQuraishi and  Mr Ali Raza Khan, CEO  of Youth Engagement Services (YES) Network Pakistan. The senior faculty and staff joined the event.

YES Network Pakistan in collaboration with British Council has already launched Change maker Institute Award in LCWU in October 2016. This competition has three phases; the first phase has already been completed and its main objective was to provide opportunity to LCWU students to explore their entrepreneurial potentials in real world. Thirty teams participated in this competition in the first phase and all the businesses made profit.Under Change maker award,the student from Biotechnology Department got Scottish scholarship for her innovative idea.The second phase will be launched soon.

According to this Memorandum of Understanding, YES will facilitate LCWU in achieving a wide range of objectives, such as: a) creating a community of knowledge and practice ; b) launching change making competitions for developing entrepreneurial drive among students (raising awareness and motivation); c) providing students an access to financial resources ; d) developing performance measures; e)integrating social entrepreneurship in the culture and curriculum; f)building new pipelines  and g) documenting stories.

In turn, LCWU will assist in assembling a diverse, institutional ‘Change Team ‘which involves faculty member and students around the institution. This team will develop a collective vision and strategy for how to advance social innovation at LCWU.  Moreover, it will provide support to champion social innovation and ignite change and will facilitate in building up an ecosystem components (culture, curriculum, research) in the University.

The MoU signing ceremony was ended with the vote of thanks by the Worthy Vice Chancellor.
