  • Student Orientation through Introductory Training Sessions:
  1. First Training Session was conducted on December 8th with the students of Natural Sciences; guest speaker was Ms, Mehr Agha, Head of Centre for Career Counseling and Job Placement
  2. Second Training Session was conducted on December 9thwith the students of Engineering, Management Sciences and IT; guest speaker was Dr. Sonia Gull, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, LCWU
  3. Third and Fourth Training Session were conducted on December 12thwith the students of Social Sciences. The guests came from Fatima Memorial Hospital namely Mrs. Zareen Arif, Coordinator Internship & Leadership Program, Ms. Shazia Iqbal, Director Community Development Program and Ms. Beenish Kashif, Director Planning & Development. Another special guest was Mr. Wajahat Masood, a senior political analyst and also a Professor in the Media Studies department at BNU
  4. The last session was conducted on December 15th with the students of Humanities & Oriental Learning. The guest speaker was again Ms. Mehr Agha, Head of Centre for Career Counseling and Job Placement

January 2012

  • January 10: Lecture on Women Empowerment and Leadership
  • January 16-18: Alumni Registration
  • January 23-27: Short listing of Alumni and current students for employment opportunity at Bloomfield Hall School, Lahore. Telephonic interviews were organized.
  • January 26: Meeting was held with the Vice Chancellor and LUMS officials. The agenda was to discuss LUMS Citi Project regarding the “role of universities in socioeconomic development through enhancing employability of their graduates”. Furthermore, feedback from various departments was taken on this topic.
  • January 31: Seminar was conducted on Gender Reform Action Plan regarding employment opportunities available in public and private sector for women.

February 2012

  • February 2: Meeting with Teach for Pakistan officials. Teach for Pakistan is a potential employer that offers graduating students from top Universities a full-time, two-year, paid Fellowship which helps address the education crisis in our country.

  • June 21: Zain Ahmad, the founding member of Karachi Astronomer’s Society (KaAS) visited LCWU to give beginner level astronomy presentation. Live celestial viewing through was also arranged for LCU students and faculty.
