Anusha Rahman Urdu: انوشہ رحمان is a Pakistani politician and a lawyer who serves as the Minister of State
of Information Technology and Telecommunication. She also sits on the board of directors of Punjab
Educational Endowment Fund.
She is a senior member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, and holds the membership of its Central
Working Committee. She become in-charge of the federal Information Technology and Telecommunication
ministry on June 2013, the only women in the federal cabinet. Her milestone achievement in this respect has
been carrying out the Pakistani Telecom Spectrum Auction and winning Pakistan a seat in the administrative
council of the International Telecommunication Union. She is also the founding member of the Parliamentary
caucus against Corruption
Dr. Tehniyat Majeed is an Alumni of Lahore College for Women University and an active art historian.
She completed her Ph.D dissertation on square Kufic calligraphy at St. Hughis College, University of Oxford in 2006. Her dissertation is the most comprehensive scholarly work on the subject and also the most advanced research on this particular topic.
She recently joined the Lahore museum and has supervised the internship course for the students of Museum studies, where she facilitates the students to learn about art activities and restoration regarding Museum studies.
The following students of Visual Arts Department, Institute of Visual Arts & Design, LCWU also joined the workshop and successfully completed their Internship course work program.

This is a unique contribution by the students of Fine Arts towards Women Empowerment program under the supervision of Dr. Tehniyat Majeed. Students of Institute of Visual Arts & Design received professional training about museum studies.
It is hoped that Dr. Tehniyat Majeed will collaborate with Lahore College for Women University, Lahore and guide the new students in future as well

1.Prof. Dr. Iqbal Dar, former Principal Lahore College for Women (1976-81)
An eminent educationist, who did her Doctorate in Psychology from University of California, USA. During her tenure she started a number of postgraduate programs in various disciplines in LCWU. In the 1960s she executed a US-Aid funded project on promotion of Girls’ Education in Pakistan. After retirement, she worked as a consultant at Amin Maktab, a school catering to the needs of special children. She also served as an Advisor on Education to Government of Punjab after her retirement.
2.Prof. M.B. Hassan, former Principal Lahore College for Women (1982-88)
A renowned educationist, who also served as Principal Queen Mary College Lahore and Islamia College for Women, Lahore. She obtained her higher education from UK. She made a valuable contribution by developing the physical infrastructure of the then college and introduced new disciplines during her tenure.
3.Mrs. Razina Alam, a well reputed politician and former senator
She graduated from Lahore College for Women and served as a member of the Senate Committee on Education. At present she is serving as HEC nominee in the Syndicates of Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, Hi-Tech University Taxila and Lahore College for Women University, Lahore.
4.Mrs. Rooh Afza Haider, a renowned Urdu author and cultural ambassador
She graduated from Lahore College with an MA in Persian in late 1930s under Principal Miss. Grey. Her close classmates included Teji, later Mrs. H.R. Bachan, mother of Amitabh Bachan. After her marriage to a diplomat, later ambassador, she continued to project Pakistani culture across the world. She was an active member of APWA Executive Committee. Her contribution to Urdu literature as author of numerous articles in various leading newspapers and magazines, and particularly as the author of three widely read books is notable.
5.Prof. Dr. Iqbal Rasheed Mian, former Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore
A well-known gynecologist who did her F.Sc. Pre-Medical from Lahore College. She obtained higher education in UK. She is an outstanding medical practitioner and served as Professor of Gynecology at King Edward Medical College, Lahore.
6.Dr. Asma Mammdot, A distinguished woman parliamentarian
A dynamic and energetic woman parliamentarian, she is a member of the National Assembly. Previously she has also been a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly Standing Committee on Education. She is actively working for the promotion of female education in Pakistan.
7.Mrs. Neelam Shafi Ali, a senior bureaucrat
A former federal secretary Government of Pakistan, she was a council member of Lahore College for Women. She was the editor of the College magazine, Kiran. She has also worked as Member Federal Service Tribunal, Managing Director Overseas Pakistanis’ Foundation, and has work experience in various Federal Ministries (Ministry of Interior, Finance, Commerce, Women Development and Youth Affairs, Culture & Sports, Production, Economic Affairs Division and Ministry of Defense). She has received several trainings within Pakistan and abroad.
8.Ms. Anjum Shamim, a famous educationist
A prominent and keen educationist, who graduated from Lahore College in mid 70s and was Head Girl of the Girls’ Hostel during her tenure. She was actively engaged in sports and co-curricular activities. Her area of expertise is in pre-schooling, primary, secondary and high schooling. She has established and is successfully operating four branches of her school “Learning Alliance” in Lahore.
9.Ms. Ayesha Hamid, a well reputed educationist, entrepreneur and social worker
She is former Head girl of Lahore College for Women. She is a renowned educationist and entrepreneur. After staying abroad for twenty five years, she is now actively engaged in the promotion of quality school education in Pakistan. She is also founding member and chairperson of OPEN.
10.Ms. Zeib Rehman, an outstanding lawyer
She graduated from Lahore College for Women in the 1970s. During her studies at Lahore College she actively participated in sports and various other societies. She is a well-known TV/film artist. Currently she is an outstanding practicing lawyer.
LCA executive body finalizes for polls:
Lahore: Meeting of executive body of LCA (Lahore College Associates) held to finalize the date of LCA’s elections at the committee room of Lahore College for Women University, Lahore. Dr. Bushra Muteen presided the meeting where as Dr. Uzma Qureshi, acting Vice Chancellor LCWU, was also present at the meeting.
According to the decisions of meeting, LCA’s election commission has been formed for fair and smooth elections and elections of the general body of LCA would be held on April 02, 2016. Polling hours would be from 9:00 am till 04:00 pm. It is pertinent to mention that LCA membership is open from March 1, 2016 till March 25, 2016 for the maximum participation of alumni in this year’s election. Nomination papers for the executive body can be filed by March 26, 2016.
While briefing about the LCA’s membership procedure executive body explained that online membership forms could also be downloaded from varsity web site and fee could be deposited in National bank account No. 3568-7. Besides this old students can obtain the membership forms from Shazeen Ilyas, executive member LCA, and call on the following phone number 03234613412 for further information.
Dr. Bushra Mateen requested for the building of LCA’a office and acting VC assured for the establishment of LCA’s office in varsity.
