Policy Regarding re-opening of Universities

POLICY REGARDING RE-OPENING OF UNIVERSITIES /HEIS FROM SEPTEMBER 15, 2020

LCWU will reopen from September 15, 2020 as per the directions of Government and all Academic activities of Lahore College for Women University, Lahore including classes opening of academic offices, opening of all administrative offices i.e. library, labs etc.  will gradually going to start from 15th September, 2020.

The commencement of classes will be planned by the CODs of the departments. Initially the classes will be online and gradually students will be asked to come on rotation and will be asked to take classes based on split teaching.

All the students will not come on daily basis. They will be asked to come keeping in mind social distancing. The rest of the classes will take online classes. The strict ad hence to SOPs regarding COVID-19 is mandatory.

CAMPUS MANAGEMENT:

  • Classes are commencing step wise keeping in view Covid-19 precautionary measure i.e. six feet distance (social) and avoiding close interaction.
  • Only MS/M.Phil. and Ph.D. research students are allowed to come on campus. Undergraduate students will attend their classes online and their  Face to face classes are expected to start from 15th October, 2020.
  • Gate timings for  Students will be flexible 
  • The teaching of newly admitted students will start from 10th November 2020 after giving them circular about proper  COVID-19.
  • It is decided that Corona Committee LCWU along with the CODs will be responsible for the implementation of SOPs.
  • Wearing masks and maintaining social distance is compulsory for staff, faculty and students.
  • It is advised to avoid hand shaking, close interaction, not entering class room if one has fever, cough, flu. 
  • Focal person of the department should ensured the SOP’s  of COVID-19
  • University Gym will remain closed.
  • LCWU will upload latest updates and general guidance   for COVID-19 related information on the university website
  • For awareness, safety measures and precautions during COVID-19 will be displayed in every department and entrance of University gates.
  • A social / Physical distance of six feet will be maintained in classrooms, labs, library, cafes, offices, corridors, staircases and lifts.
  • Covid-19 standees for awareness of students will be displayed throughout the University and pamphlets will be distributed among the students to reinforce social distancing, maintenance of good hygiene, wearing of masks, hand washing, use of sanitizer, use of tissue paper while sneezing and coughing etc.
  • Orientation session for Covid-19 will be organized for teaching faculty and in person for administrative staff regarding safety protocols and SOPs to be followed.
  • Same SOPs to be followed in University Masjid.
  • Any type of  social  gathering in not allowed in the University premises. 

BLENDED TEACHING

  • Chairperson / Director of the department will prepare a timetable so that students can be offered blended Teaching to maintain presence of minimum number of  student at campus at any time.

SOPs FOR HOSTEL

  • All the hostel wardens are responsible for implementation and maintenance of SOPs.
  • All Students must fill the undertaking before arrival in the University. They may be called six days earlier before commencement of classes and quarantine for that period.
  • Hostel will be open for last year students of BS, MS and Ph.D. on priority and wardens will be responsible for SOPs compliance.
  • Hostel committee will define SOPs for hostel students.
  • The student will not be allowed to leave the hostel frequently and their home visit will be decided by the hostel committee keeping in mind the safety protocols and SOPs.
  • Students will not be allowed to have guests during this COVID-19 pandemic.

SOPs FOR CAFETERIA

  • Cafeteria spots must be scattered on different points throughout the university in order to avoid overcrowding.
  • Distance marks’ must be placed at each café spot.
  • Cafeteria will only be opened for take away, sitting in cafeteria will not be allowed.

SOPs FOR LABS

  • Temperature of all students / staff will be checked before entrance the labs.
  • Social distance of six feet will be maintained.
  • Wearing of masks is mandatory for all students.
  • The labs will be properly sanitized before opening.
  • Any student having cough / sneezing will not be allowed to enter.

SOPs FOR LIBRARY

  • Temperature of all students / staff will be checked before entrance the library.
  • Any student having cough / sneezing will not be allowed to enter.
  • Social distance of six feet will be maintained.
  • Wearing of masks is mandatory for all students.

SOPs FOR MEDICAL CENTER

  • Temperature of all students / staff will be checked before entrance the labs.
  • Social distance of six feet will be maintained.
  • Wearing of masks is mandatory for all students.

SOPs FOR BUSES

  • Drivers, conductors and students must wear mask and follow the SOPs of COVID-19
  • Distance of one seat must be maintained in buses.
  • Mask is mandatory.
  • Windows of the bus should be kept open during normal weather conditions.
  • Regular cleanness of the windows and seats of the University buses should be maintained.
  • Drivers must ensure that no unofficial person should travel in university buses
