Persian Poetry can play a key role in bringing social reforms in today’s society. Keeping in view this idea Persian Department organized a 2-Day International webinar with the title “The Vision for Social Reforms and the Poetry of Firdowsi and Iqbal” Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Vice Chancellor, LCWU) Prof. Dr. Faleeha Zahra Kazmi (Chairperson Persian Department) Muhammad Reza Nazeri (Counsel General of Iran Lahore) Mr. Jafar Ronas (Director Iran Cultural Centre Lahore) Muhammad Iqbal Slahuddin (President Dabistan-e-Iqbal Lahore) Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli (Head Academics, Iqbal Academy Pakistan) Dr. Jahangir Iqbal (Head of Persian Department, University of Kashmir Srinagar) Dr. Reza Falahati Qadimi (Assistant Professor, RICEST) Dr. Ilham Haddadi (Expert from Saadi Foundation Iran) Ms. Syeda Hirra Gillani (Ph.D. Scholar, Persian Department LCWU, Lahore) Presented their valuable articles about the topic.

The guest Speakers appreciated the efforts of Persian Department LCWU, in organizing such thought provoking webinars, even in the Covid-19 Pandemic. They declared the ideology of both the national thinkers very effective in understanding and solving today’s problems as well as social, cultural and religious conflicts. In the end they congratulated COD Persian, Faculty and Students for organizing such a successful Webinar.
