Achievement of English Debating Society, LCWU
Tashfa Saghir, Declared as the Best Debater of Pakistan
The English Debating Society, LCWU is proud to announce a momentous achievement as Tashfa Saghir, Secretary of the English Debating Society, has been declared the Best Debater of Pakistan. Representing LCWU at the prestigious 44th Allama Muhammad Iqbal Bilingual Declamation Contest held at Government College University, Lahore, Tashfa’s unparalleled oratory skills and dedication have brought immense honor to the institution.
The (AIBD) is recognized as the pinnacle of competitive oration in Pakistan. For decades, it has been the platform where the finest orators have showcased their talent, and this year, Tashfa’s exceptional performance earned her the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Award, the highest accolade for the greatest English orator in Pakistan.
This historic victory not only highlights Tashfa’s individual brilliance but also signifies the excellence of LCWU in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of academic and extracurricular distinction.
On behalf of the EDS LCWU, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tashfa Saghir for this extraordinary achievement. Her success will forever be remembered as a proud moment. We wish her continued success in her journey in the art of declamation.
Second day of 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Physics retained momentum with invited talks of Dr. Khurrum Joya, Intel Islamic University, Madina, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Nauman Sarwar Qureshi, Dr. Hamid, Dr. Gohar, Dr Jamil, Dr. Zafar, and Dr. Muhammad Afaq talked about theoretical and experimental physics. Afterwords five parallel sessions covered topics like nanocomposites and materials science for energy and biomedical applications of nanotechnology.
Hajra Sohail won Asghar Nadeem Syed Award as a Best Drama Script Writer
The Department of English, LCWU feels proud to announce that our student
Hajra Sohail of semester 5 participated in all Pakistan Literary Festival
“Biyad e Parveen Shakir” in the drama script writing category
held on the 16th and 17th of December 2024 at GC University Lahore.
She secured 1st position as a Best Drama Script Writer and won Asghar Nadeem Syed Award.
Lahore College for Women University has signed an MOU with the University of Sargodha on December 4th, 2024
26th November, 2024:"Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor, LCWU has Inaugurated the Series of Activities pertaining to International celebrations of 16 Days of Activism for Endings Violence Against Women, 2024 organized by the Department of Gender & Development Studies, WILL, and Women Development Centre LCWU."
"Students from the Department of Gender Studies participated in a discussion session with the Vice Chancellor as part of the activities organized for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The Vice Chancellor shared her professional journey with the students to highlight the struggles women face in achieving their goals."
The students also emphasized the importance of providing more opportunities for skill development and networking to support them in establishing themselves as professionals and successful women.
