Research Facilities

1.     CS350 Potentiostat Galvanostat:

 This is a sophisticated instrument that boasts of having an even faster digital function generator, acquisition circuitry, and built-in potentiostat and galvanostat functionality. This device is renowned for its stability and accuracy due to its utility in ensuring versatile applications in research studies in the area of corrosion studies, battery research, electrochemical analysis and many more.

Principal Applications

1. Electrosynthesis: Mechanisms of electrodeposition, anodic oxidation and electroplating are investigated.

2. Electrochemical Analysis Sensor development.

3. Energy Materials: R&D on Li-ion batteries, solar cells, fuel cells, supercapacitors etc.

4. Corrosion Studies: The corrosion of metals in various media like water, concrete, soil etc.

5. Efficiency Evaluation: Quick appraisal of corrosion inhibitors, water stabilizers, coatings and cathodic protection systems.

2.     UV-Vis Spectrophotometer:

A UV-Vis Spectrophotometer measures the absorbance or transmittance of a sample in the ultraviolet and visible light spectrum. It finds frequent application in quantitative analysis solutions; in material characterization; pharmaceutical testing; environmental monitoring; life sciences research. The device offers high accuracy and high sensitivity and  is applicable for both solid, liquid, and gaseous samples.

3.     Auto Claves

An autoclave is an article of sterilizing water vapor under pressure. It is commonly applied in medical and laboratory areas, as well as in industry. Autoclaving kills harmful microorganisms to ensure the proper sterilization of medical instruments, lab tools, pharmaceutical products, and biohazardous waste.

4.     Hydraulic Press Machine

A Hydraulic Press Machine is one that utilizes hydraulic force to compress or shape materials, often used in a range of applications, including metal forming, molding, pressing, stamping, and powder compacting. It provides a high force output with good control for metals, plastics, and composites. Types include C-frames and H-frames and are available for industrial applications.

5.     Laminar Hood

A Laminar Hood is a sterile, particle-free area created with filtered air, ideal for protection against contamination of samples. Its common applications include laboratory work, tissue culture, electronics manufacturing and pharmaceutical preparation. It has HEPA filters and is also offered in vertical or horizontal airflow designs.

6.     Furnaces

A Furnace is a high-temperature device used for heating, melting, or processing materials in various industries. In all of these applications, key uses are metallurgy and heat treatment, ceramics and glass manufacturing, chemical processing, and material testing.

7.     Digital Hot Plate

A Digital Hot Plate is a precise laboratory heating apparatus to warm samples in different vessels. Its use varies from chemical reactions to preparation of samples and warming of the medium. The product offers temperature setting with very accurate value setting, uniform heating with even heat distribution, and safeguards against overheating, using an automatic shutdown provision.

8.     Digital Oven

A Digital Ovens  provide precise temperature control for sophisticated laboratory applications such as material testing, sample drying, and sterilization of lab equipment. Its key features include an even heating pattern, programmable settings for customized cycles, and a strong safety feature via over-temperature protection.

9.     Incubator

An incubator is defined as a temperature-controlled chamber used for the cultivation and preservation of biological cultures, which may be of microorganisms, cells. The most common applications include microbiology, cell culture, embryo development, and also environmental testing. The key features of an incubator include accuracy in temperature and humidity control, management of air-flow for uniform conditions, and monitoring systems complete with alarms to ensure the right growth environments.

10.  Dip Coater

A dip coater is an application tool that allows for thin, uniform films on substrates through immersion in a solution followed by withdrawal at a controlled speed. It is known for applications like thin film coatings, surface modification, nanotechnology, and biomedical applications. Some of the features include adjustable withdrawal speed for uniform thickness, adjustable immersion depth, optional temperature control, and versatility to process a wide range of materials including polymers, ceramics, and metals.

11.  Ultrasonic bath

An Ultrasonic Bath is an ultrasonic cleaning device, where high-frequency sound waves generate cavitation bubbles in a liquid to successfully remove contaminants from surfaces. Laboratory equipment, parts from industrial purposes, jewelry, and medical instruments are some of the most common applications.

12.  Wise bath

Wise Bath or Water Bath, is a type of laboratory device which heats, and sometimes maintains at a specific temperature samples. Heating Samples for Experiments Enzyme Reactions Melting Point Determinations Cell Cultures Preparation of Solutions Main features of this equipment are uniform heating and availability in various sizes to satisfy particular needs, plus over-temperature protection for safety reasons.

13.  Centrifuge machine

A centrifuge machine is used to separate different densities' substances that can be in liquid form by centrifugal force created through rapid spinning. This makes it an applicable tool in the processing of biological samples, cell culture, and purifying biomolecules among other industrial processes and chemical analysis. Its features include adjustable speed control, different types of rotors depending on specific applications, safety mechanisms such as lid locks and imbalance detection, and compact designs for work in any given laboratory setting.

14.  P H Meters

The pH Meters are electronic measuring devices used to determine the acidity or alkalinity of solutions by determining their pH levels. They are applied in laboratory research, environmental testing, food and beverage quality control, agriculture, and keeping the pH level stable in aquariums and hydroponics. It has a digital display, sensitive pH electrode, provision for calibration with standard buffers for accuracy, and is portable for handy portability anywhere.

15.  Distillation Water Plant

Distillation Water Plant boils the water to steam and condenses the steam back into liquid. This way, all salts and organic impurities in water are removed. It is used for purification in many industrial processes, in pharmaceuticals, laboratories, food and beverage plants, and aquaculture, among others. Depending on the application, recovery heating and efficient configurations may make its distillation stages multi-stage to further increase the purity.
