Syndicate

(1) The Syndicate shall consist of -

1. the Vice-Chancellor who shall be its Chairperson;
   
   ii.   the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court or a Judge of the Lahore High Court nominated by him;
   
   iii.   the Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Education Department or his nominee not below the rank of Additional Secretary;
   
   iv.   the Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Finance Department or his nominee not below the rank of Additional Secretary;
   
   v.   the Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department or his nominee not below the rank of Additional Secretary;
   
   vi.   the Chairman of the University Grants Commission or his nominee not below the rank of a whole time member of the Commission;
   
   vii.   one Vice-chancellor of any public University of the Punjab to be nominated by the Chancellor;
   
   viii.   three Deans of the faculty to be nominated by the Chancellor;
   
   ix.   three Directors of Institute to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor;  
   
   x.   four persons of eminence to be nominated by the Chancellor;
   
   xi.   chairman Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Lahore;  
   
   xii.   two Principals of constituent colleges to be nominated by the Government;
   
   xiii.   *two Principals of affiliated colleges to be nominated by the Government;
   
   xiv.   **  the Executive District Officer (Education), Lahore; and
   
   xv.   ***“three women members of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab to be  nominated by the Speaker of the Assembly.”
   
   

(2)   the Registrar shall be the Secretary of the Syndicate.

(3)   members of the Syndicate, other than ex-officio members, shall hold office for three years.

(4)   the number of members to constitute the quorum for a meeting of the Syndicate shall be eight.
