    Foreign Faculty Hostel

    Lahore College for Women University is one of the historical institutes situated in the heart of the city of gardens “Lahore”. We are equipped with a state of the art Visiting Faculty Hostel for  temporary stay of academic officials from educational institutes. The guests may include faculty members and/or administrative officials. Our promise is to provide comfortable hospitality for our guests visiting Lahore for academic purpose.

    Accommodation at Faculty Hostel

    The hostel is equipped with air conditioned Suites, TV Lounge, Dining area and spacious parking area. All these areas are designed to offer maximum comfort, privacy and security. Internet facility is also available throughout the hostel. These delightful rooms have beautifully furnished separate sitting area; bed room, ample wardrobe space and deluxe marble bathroom, finely decorated to make the stay even more comfortable. It will be our honor to serve you and make your stay a memorable one. We are ready for your visit.

    Cancellation Policy

    Cancellation for a hostel suite reservation must be received 24 hours prior to the expected day of arrival and may differ by arrival date and room type. If cancellation of a guaranteed reservation is not received by the requested date the hostel will charge for one night’s accommodations.

    There are three Students' Hostels in University

    Habiba Hall: For Intermediate Students

    Jafrey Hall: For Undergraduate Students

    New Hostel: For Post-Graduate Students

    New Hostel: 200

    Residential Facility

    The university offers hostel facility to the students coming from other cities and abroad. There are three hostels for Intermediate, Graduates and Postgraduate Students. Due to limited accommodation facilities, the hostel seats are provided to the students only on merit.

    Hostel Rules

    1. The boarding house provides accommodation to all the students subject to the availability of Hostel Accommodation only on merit coming from far away areas. Hostel accommodation is not provided to the local students.

    2. At the time of admission to the hostel, every boarder’s parents/ guardian must provide a list of visitors (prescribed form) giving details regarding name, designation and relationship to the student concerned. This list must be signed by the parents/ guardian and accompanied by the photocopy of National Identity Cards of the visitors and specimen signatures of the visitors on the list which should not exceed five.

    3. Appointment of the local guardian by the parents/ guardian is compulsory otherwise hostel seat will not be provided.

    4. Gate passes are issued only by the hostel warden for Libraries or to go home and they must have to come back to hostel before 7:00 pm in summer and 5:00 pm in winter.

    5. Self pass is allowed to BS IV, Postgraduate students and Pharmacy Prof IV and V for their Research work, projects and Internships approved by their research supervisor and Head of Department. Students of BS I to BS III and Pharmacy Prof I to III are allowed to take self pass only on Friday and Saturday to go home on weekends. In case of any emergency during week days, one of the family members, mentioned in the hostel visiting list of the student, must have to come to take the student home.

    6. Leave to go out other than weekend is given by the Vice Chancellor or Nominee. Leave is granted under the following conditions:

    I. If the boarders wish to take leave, the application must be submitted to the warden three days before.

    II. Boarders are requires to fill out the gate pass book clearly depicting the reason for which the leave is requested and with whom she is going.

    III. If they are going to visit any person, the address and the relationship of the person must be mentioned. They must have to enter their names in the entry register at hostel/staff gate on return to the hostel.

    IV. If a boarder does not observe punctuality while availing the facility of going outside she will not be allowed to go outside for the second time.

    V. If a boarder remains outside the hostel without any information to warden for three days, her name would be stuck off from the hostel and she has to re-admit herself in hostel after the payment of hostel readmission fee Rs: 1000/- once only, otherwise she will be rest gated from the hostel.

    7. Boarders are not allowed to take their breakfast, lunch and dinner in their rooms.

    8. Visitors of the boarders are not allowed to stay with them.

    9. Boarders are allowed to stay within the University premises and not to leave the university without valid gate pass issued by the warden. If they don’t follow the hostel gate pass rules, the hostel management will not be responsible for their security and safety. In fact it is in the interest of boarders not to leave the hostel without valid gate pass. On failing, strict disciplinary actions would be taken and she will be rest gated from the hostel.

    10. Boarders are not allowed to go to the administrative main offices, university main gate and the academic buildings after the working hours.

    11. Every boarder is expected to preserve peace, tranquility and calm atmosphere in the hostel and respect to the rights of others. They are not allowed to hold any political or religious meetings which are likely to hurt the feelings of any resident.

    12. Boarders are allowed to submit their hostel (mess charges) in the first two weeks of each month. They will pay Rs: 330/- each per month for maintenance of room coolers from April to September each year. In case of late fee submission within the due date, students will have to pay fine Rs: 100/- with fee of next month. All hostel dues will increase 10 % every year.

    13. Mess Charges are compulsory to pay whether students want to avail the mess facility or not.

    14. Boarders are not allowed to willfully damage the hostel property and will take care of cleanliness of the hostel.

    15. Any students who will violate the hostel rules and found involved in any negative activity like strikes or instigate other boarders for this purpose will render her liable to disciplinary punishment.

    16. Behavior of old students shall be considered before extending their admission to the new class in hostel.

    17. In case of seven consecutive leaves from hostel with application, students can have the concession of one week deduction in their mess dues.

    18. Self gate pass will be issued on the responsibility of the parents and they have to give a written permission to hostel warden about their daughters’ self pass.

    19. A serious breach of these rules will render her liable to be even expelled from the university.

    23. Self gate pass will be issued on the responsibility of the parents and they have to give a written permission to hostel warden about their daughters’ self pass.

    24. A serious breach of these rules will render her liable to be even expelled from the university.

    25. Hostel facility will be renewed every year based on how the students conduct themselves during the year and their academic performance.

    26. Counter system will be continued.

    27. In case of any hostel rule violation, hostel warden will give written warning to the boarders and also forward it to the Disciplinary Committee for further necessary actions. After three warnings, students would be expelled from the hostel.

    Day Care Centre

    A Daycare Center was established in 1989 by the Social Welfare department in collaboration with the Government of Punjab.          

    The university through its HEC funded development programs has constructed a purpose built building for the center. The building has 1925 square feet covered area. The area is financially supported by the university through its development projects and general funds.

    Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr. Sabiha Mansoor, the university is planning to upgrade the Daycare Center. It will not only facilitate the students and staff members but will also establish a support unit for training and development of the students who intent to pursue careers related to childcare.

    Daycare center was officially inaugurated on Wednesday; December 21, 2011 by Mrs. Maryam Nawaz. Vice Chancellor Dr. Sabiha Mansoor, deans, faculty and staff members were also present to grace the occasion.

    Mosque

    There is a mosque for female students, situated near student hostels, at the LCWU. 

    Transport Facilities

    ·         The university offers the facility of 9 buses.

    ·         The finances needed for them are generated through students as per government directive.

    ·         Students are directed to contact Mr. Shahid Hussain, Transport Officer to get their bus cards issued soon after their admission.

    ·         Bus card is issued for two months and renewed after two months.

    ·         The cards of defaulters will be cancelled and reissued on the payment of fine of Rs. 100/- Bus charges are not refundable.

    ·         Students are expected to display appropriate behavior while using transport facility.

     

     

    Health Care

    The University takes full care of physical and mental health of its students and staff.

    The doctors and his para-medical staff are available in the dispensary located near halls of residence.

    Emergency and serious cases are forwarded to Services Hospital for treatment and hospitalization for which transport is available.

    Medical staff is qualified and well trained to manage emergency cases and capable to provide all necessary medical assistance. Following medical services are provided:

    Nebulization

    A fully equipped ambulance with driver is available 24 hours Emergency and serious cases are forwarded to Services Hospital for treatment and hospitalization.

    The Health Care Centre provides medical facilities to 40 – 70 students daily.
