Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA)

USAID HESSA - Introduction

USAID's Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA) is a 5-year partnership between the government of Pakistan and the United States. It will include partnerships with 16 Pakistani universities. The USAID/Pakistan funded Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA) Project aims at providing technical assistance to several Pakistani Universities through University of Utah, USA, in three broad areas:

(1) Leadership Development and Institutional Governance;
(2) Faculty Development, Research, Curriculum Modernization, and Entrepreneurship; and
(3) Students’ Support Services.

LCWU has become member of the 15 selected partners Universities for HESSA Project in the Year 2022. HESSA is a USAID funded initiative and led by the University of Utah, the University of Alabama, and the Institute of International Education (IIE). These U.S. institutions will work closely with Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) to reinforce the country’s higher education system by capacity building of HEIs. Various faculty and staff members of LCWU have attended trainings in Islamabad and USA under this project.
