Under the dynamic leadership of Abeeha Noor, as President, and Tashfa Saghir, as Secretary, the TEDxLCWU Society hosted its first “Meet the Speaker” session of the 2024-2025 season. The event welcomed the esteemed Dr. Amina Obaid Khawaja, renowned for her impactful talk at last year’s TEDxCountdown’23. Dr. Amina revisited her topic, “Surviving Together: The Vital Role of Animals in Mitigating Climate Change,” emphasizing the importance of coexisting with animals to protect our planet. The session also included recitals of Dr. Amina’s poetry, inspiring empathy and sparking deep reflections among the audience.
The discussion highlighted Dr. Amina’s pivotal role in founding the Animal Welfare and Protection Society of LCWU in 2019, a visionary initiative to "maximize her impact." The engaging session featured a lively Q&A and a participatory activity where students shared ideas and feedback, leaving over 40 attendees inspired and energized.
Special thanks go to Dr. Asma Shahid Kazi, the organizer, and Dr. Shabana Manzoor, the In-Charge, whose unwavering support and dedication ensured the event’s success. This session marked collective growth for TEDxLCWU Society.
