Sahar Zia, Inchrage of Department of Geography, LCWU has successfully completed her PhD in Geography from University of the Punjab, Lahore. Dr. Sahar Zia puts an important steppingstone towards further developments of Geography Department at LCWU, being first PhD degree holder. She accomplished her PhD degree after approval of her thesis titled ‘causes and consequences of urban flooding in Lahore: A study to evolve mitigation strategies”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Safdar Ali Shirazi, Chairperson of Department of Geography, University of the Punjab.Her research achievement is a very timely subject. She enlightened how Lahore and other mega cities need to approach urban flooding problems more strategically and effectively.
