Department of Management and Administrative Sciences, LCWU organized seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Industry Academia Linkages - One to One Coaching Session for Entrepreneurial Projects” for final year students on Thursday, 5th November 2020. The purpose of this seminar was to develop entrepreneurial skills in students that will enable them to initiate their own ventures. Chairperson of Department of Management Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Fiaz welcomed the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Bushra Mirza and the chief guests Dr. Shahzad Raza, Chairman LCCI Standing Committee and Dr. Amir Ikram from UET Lahore. The session formally began with National Anthem, followed by the recitation of Holy Quran.
Thereafter, Worthy Vice Chancellor, in her address to the gathering stressed upon the importance of self-employment for women. She has also appreciated the efforts of Department of Management and Administrative Sciences in organizing the seminar.
Dr. Shahzad Raza gave the presentation on how to start a successful business. He said that every problem offers an opportunity and urged students to generate business ideas and utilize their knowledge for betterment of society. He stressed the significance of strong industry- academia linkages in order to develop a viable self-sustaining economy.
Dr. Amir Ikram shared successful startup stories to encourage students to go for entrepreneurship. He also emphasized that entrepreneurship is not only about success, but also includes embracing failures. He urged students not to be afraid to fail and consider it as first step towards success.
The presentations of guests attracted a host of pertinent questions from the students which was answered during Q & A session. In the end, the Vice Chancellor presented souvenirs to the honorable guests.
