Department of Physics, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore, Pakistan organized One day Seminar on “Science and Engineering James web  space Telescope" held on 23rd February 2022. The Chief Guest and keynote speaker was Engineer Mansoor Ahmed Scientist Emeritus, NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center, Astrophysics Division, USA.

The program started with the In his talk Engineer Mansoor Ahmed talked about The James Webb Space Telescope. The space telescope designed primarily to conduct infrared astronomy. The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration led development of the telescope in collaboration with the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency. The first image NASA shared from the brand new James Webb Space Telescope showed a star warped over 18 different images due to inconsistencies in the mirror's alignment.

The faculty and students of Physics and Mathematics department attended this seminar, finally the question answer session was full of interesting questions . At the end Prof. Dr Zohra Nazir Kayani Chairperson Physics presented a souvenir to the speaker.

Such seminars will lead to productive collaboration of LCWU with international institutions in academics and research.
