Department of English arranged a ‘Creative Writing Portfolio Exhibition’ under the patronage of Fareeha Basit Khan Literary Society. The Vice Chancellor of Lahore College for Women University, Prof. Dr Bushra Mirza inaugurated the event as Chief Guest. The purpose of the exhibition was to promote the display of literary works that are being created every year by young and enthusiastic students of Creative Writing. It was not only done to appreciate creativity in terms of writing, but also to encourage young talent within these writers. The students of Creative Writing emerged from Semester 6, under the supervision of Ms Aaisha Mumtaz and Ms Zunaira Sumbal.
The inspiration of each student’s portfolio was taken from famous writers, series, or significant thoughts that pushed them towards spilling their hearts out on the pages. The worthy VC reviewed every portfolio that was displayed beautifully, and aesthetically and shared her delightful thoughts with the students and the faculty members who were present. A Magazine was shown to Prof. Dr Bushra Mirza from last year, as a final outcome of the student’s hard work and dedication. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the students, and took great interest in each project. The Vice Chancellor was presented with a bouquet by HOD of English, Dr Amara Khan. The event on the whole was a major success, and the students left with their hopes high for the near future.
