Career Guidance and Counseling Centre, LCWU celebrated "World Mental Health Day" on 10" October, 2023 in collaboration with affiliated Govt. Graduate College for Women Gulberg Lahore (GGCWG) under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz, Vice Chancellor LCWU. Awareness walk and Seminar on Stress Management was organized and held at the Department of Applied Psychology (GGCWG). Ms. Mamoona Riaz and Ms. Samina Uzair were resource persons for the seminar. The Principal Dr. Nighat Zafar, Vice Principal Dr. Shagufta Gulraiz and Head of Applied Psychology Department Dr. Subha Malik expressed solidarity by participating in these activities. The senior faculty members and around 200 students of different departments joined the walk and attended seminar. The information covered during seminar included:  

·  Understanding the concept of mental health and hygiene for all in line with theme of world mental health day 2023; “Mental Health is Universal Human Right”.  

·  To promote professional help seeking and breaking stigma attached to mental health issues and treatment of psychological disorders. 

·  Identification of physiological and psychological responses to every-day hassles and stressors 

·  Understanding the stress mechanism and action response  

·  The strategies to manage stress and maintain optimal mental health.  

Overall, the activity was conducted smoothly in a healthy manner to show the solidarity for the cause of Mental Health Awareness.
