Khadija Tul Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC) at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) organized Cohort Selection meeting on 1st February, 2024 by involving members from industry, academia, HEC representatives, and the K-BIC Team.
A total of 50 startup ideas registered with K-BIC and went through pre-incubation training to transform their ideas into business. After shortlisting, 28 startups appeared in front of the jury covering a broad range of ideas from healthcare solutions to game design, handicrafts to clean environment solutions, nano fertilizers etc. The participation of business ideas came from various departments including Architecture, Education, Biotechnology, Botany, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Sciences, Public Administration, and International Relations.
During the meeting, the Selection Committee meticulously reviewed each startup's proposal, evaluating its viability, innovation, and potential impact. The startups presented their ideas with enthusiasm and dedication, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and vision for the future.
Following the thorough deliberation and assessment process, the Selection Committee provided valuable feedback and recommendations of the aspiring entrepreneurs. Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University received a briefing from committee members and discussed various aspects of establishing an entrepreneurial ecosystem in LCWU. The event ended with the distribution of shields among all the committee members in recognition of their invaluable contributions.
