In a bid to enhance support services for students, university faculty from various departments participated in a specialized micro-counseling training session organized by Career Guidance and Counselling Centre (CGCC). The activity was held under the patronage of worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz and support of respected Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal. Resource persons of the event, Ms. Mamoona Riaz and Ms. Samina Uzair guided the faculty members with essential skills to better address the diverse mental health needs of students.During the training, participants delved into various aspects of micro counselling, including active listening, empathy building, and effective communication techniques. Role-playing exercises simulated real-world scenarios commonly encountered in academic settings.All faculty members praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of faculty being equipped to provide timely and effective support to students facing mental health challenges.
The Counselling Centre plans to continue such collaborative efforts to foster a supportive campus environment.
