The Department of Gender & Development Studies, Lahore College for Women University in collaboration with Home Net Pakistan (HNP) and with the great support of Vice Chancellor, LCWU Prof Dr. Bushra Mirza, celebrated 16 Days of Activism on 2nd December 2022 and launched the campaign to “Ending violence against women and girls” with slogans of “Mehfooz Aurat, Mazboot Muashra”
The main purpose of this event is to bring together the policymakers, state actors, and the civil society leaders and especially student of new era to show their commitment to end violence against women and Girls in Pakistan.
Head of Department and Associate Professor at Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences Dr. Muhammad Fiaz appreciated the efforts of Home Net Pakistan (HNP) and Department of Gender and Department Studies for raising awareness against violence against women and girls.
Dr. Uzma Ashiq, in charge of Gender and Development Studies dept, LCWU expressed her gratitude to all administration of Lahore College for Women University, Home Net Pakistan (HNP) for their support and collaboration in organizing this event.
Ms. Ume Laila ( Executive Director,HimeNet Pakistan, Ms. Sadia Ali( Deputy Director, Social Welfare), Ms. Menhaz Rafi( Social Activist) emphasized on the need to take critical steps which can ensure the safety of women in our society.
In this event , students of Gender and Development Studies actively participated.
This event was attended by the senior faculty of Lahore College for Women University, representative from various NGOs and government departments.
