Fareeha Basit Khan Literary Society hosted a Poetry Workshop

Fareeha Basit Khan Literary Society, on 24th February 2025, hosted a Poetry Workshop called Poetic Pulse of Pakistan, bringing together poetry enthusiasts, writers, and creative minds for a unique literary experience. Held in the student service center, the event aimed to promote artistic expression and encourage meaningful discussions on poetry and creative writing.

Amna Akhtar, Secretary of Fareeha Basit Khan Literary Society, warmly welcomed the audience and introduced the theme of the event. The audience was captivated by his experiences and perspectives, especially his emphasis on the inseparability of music and poetry. The session was highly engaging which allowed participants to explore the creative process behind poetry writing and its relevance in everyday life.

Rizwan Akhtar, shared his admiration for John Keats and explained the importance of objectivity in poetry. He also discussed fundamental aspects of poetry, making the session both enriching and inspiring. Dr. Akhtar spoke about his experiences during his university tour in England and provided insights into the creative journey behind one of his masterpieces, "Lahore, I Am Coming". His recitations deeply moved the audience, leaving a lasting impression. Additionally, he reflected on the role of technology in poetry, discussing its advantages and challenges in modern literary expression. Following his address, an engaging Q&A session took place, where participants eagerly asked questions, leading to meaningful discussions on the power of poetry to shape individual perspectives and experiences.

An appreciation speech was given by Rania Asif Khan President of Fareeha Basit Khan Literary Society, who expressed gratitude to Dr Rizwan Akhtar and all participants for their dedication and enthusiasm. The final moments of the event featured a heartfelt recitation of "My Languages" by Hoorya Farukh, adding a poetic touch to the closing.
