The Department of Gender & Development Studies, LCWU and WaterAid Pakistan jointly organized the International WASH & MHM Expo-Conference 2025 titled “Breaking Barriers, Building Solutions” on 12^th of November 2025.

Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor LCWU, emphasized the university’s commitment to advancing gender-responsive and inclusive WASH and MHM practices in Pakistan. Ms. Sadia Taimoor, Focal Person to CM, Punjab/Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development Department, graced the ceremony as Chief Guest, highlighting the government’s dedication to women’s health and empowerment and inaugurated the Breast Cancer Corner, LCWU by Pink Ribbon Pakistan.

Mr. Muhammad Junaid, Country Director, WaterAid Pakistan, appreciated LCWU’s partnership and reiterated WaterAid’s mission to ensure safe and dignified WASH services for all.

Earlier, Dr. Uzma Ashiq Khan, Incharge GDS, welcomed the participants, followed by a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Maria Fannin, University of Bristol (UK). Esteemed speakers were Dr. Rubina Sohail and Mr. Saeed Ul. Hassan. Innovative student-led projects promoting sustainable WASH and MHM solutions across Pakistan were also showcased and awarded from the special Guest Ms. Rushda Lodhi, Parliamentary Secretary.
