Q1. What is the admission criterion for BS Home Economics?

A1.
FSc (Pre Medical/Pre Engineering), FA Group of Home Economics, General Science, ICS, ICOM and A-Levels with high grades. 60% or above marks in intermediate level examination. All other requirements as per university policy (Please see university admission criteria for BS).


Q2. What are the major areas of Home Economics that are studied during BS program?

A2. Following are the major areas of Home Economics taught during BS program:
1.    Art and Design
2.    Food and Nutrition
3.    Human Development and Family Studies
4.    Interior and Environmental Design 
5.    Textiles and Clothing

Q3. What kinds of careers are available to students who take Home Economics as a major subject? 

A3. Students who enroll in Home Economics are taught all the major subjects. Along with theoretical knowledge, students gain practical experience, which better prepares them for professional challenges. Home Economics graduates are working as educators, fashion and textile designers, interior designers, daycare manager, dietitians, and nutritionists at renowned organizations and institutions. Many students have set up their own start-up companies.
