Punjab Minister for Higher Education and IT Raja Yasir Humayun visits department of Mass Communication of Lahore College for Women University
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Higher Education and IT Raja Yasir Humayun visited department of Mass Communication of Lahore College for Women University and interacted with the students of Mass Communication along holding meetings with the worthy Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr Bushra Mirza, Dr. Anjum Zia, HoD of Mass Communication and the faculty of the Mass Communication.
While talking to the students Provincial Minister Raja Yasir Humayun said under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, provincial government was taking all required measures for the betterment of students during coronavirus epidemic. The provincial minister highlighted different successful operations of government related to the development of IT sector and higher education during the last two years.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mirza and Chairperson Department Dr Anjum Zia briefed the Minister about the equipments, studios and laboratories set up in the department.
He was interviewed for the FM radio and web TV of Lahore College for Women University during his visit to the Department of Mass Communication.
Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun has said that career counseling centres will be set up in educational institutions of Punjab to guide students besides launching a web portal soon.
The Minister lauded the achievements and said that his department wished to introduce learning management system in all the universities.
Funds had been released to the Punjab Higher Education for development of software for this purpose, he added. The minister also held a question and answer session with the students and briefed them about his department and the Punjab government’s performance in the education sector and future plans. Moreover, the minister had a candid discussion session with the faculty of the Mass Communication in the presence of Dr. Bushra Mirza, VC of LCWU and various issues related to the development of higher education were also discussed.
