Lahore College for Women University was selected for the Higher Education Support System Activity Program. Under this program, teachers and staff of Lahore College for Women University and other partner universities will be trained for 4 years.
Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has selected Lahore College for Women University along with 15 partner universities for Higher Education Support System Activity Program. This was decided by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan at the Higher Education Support System Activity (HESSA) program launching Ceremony.
In this ceremony, Chairman Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Dr Tariq Banuri, Senior Officers of HEC, Prof. Dr Bushra Mirza Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University, Chairperson Physics Department Prof. Dr Zohra Nazir Kayani, Chairperson Computer Science Department Dr Saima Farhan Chairperson Statistics Department Dr Asifa Kamal, USAID Mission Director Julie Koenen and Vice Chancellors of other partner universities also participated.
Under this program, five women's universities in Pakistan, including Lahore College for Women University, will be merged to benefit from the successful experience in teaching and research, governance and sustainability. Research opportunities, soft skills training and job counselling support will be provided to university students involved in this project.
