5–9th June, 2023: A five-day workshop was organized by LISA-LCWU in collaboration with the Directorate of Faculty Development & Internationalization (DFDI), titled: “Machine Learning Techniques: Theory and Implementation”. The resource person of the workshop was Dr. Muhammad Farooq, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, GCU Lahore. The introduction and fundamentals of machine learning (ML) was explained. The workshop also covered the mathematical foundation and application of basic algorithms of ML. Dean of Arts and & Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal graced the event and presented souvenir to the resource person. The certificate distribution ceremony was also graced by Director DFDI Dr. Anjum Tahira and Controller of Examination Ms. Huma Saeed. The faculty and students from Statistics department attended the workshop. Faculty members from other departments of LCWU also attended the workshop. Faculty members from Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), Government Post Graduate College for Women Samanabad, Virtual University and Govt graduate college civil line, Sheikhupura participated in workshop. It was a great opportunity for the students and faculty members to learn ML algorithms and application to real datasets.
