A talk on “New initiatives taken by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for the betterment of young engineers”
May 5, 2023: Engr. Syed Jawwad Haider Gillani, Member of governing body of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), delivered a talk on the “new initiatives taken by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for the betterment of young engineers” at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on 5th May, 2023.
Speaking at a seminar organized by the DEE, LCWU, Engr. Gillani discussed various programs and initiatives launched by the council to support the professional development of young engineers in Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and training for engineers to keep up with the rapidly evolving technology and industry trends.
Engr. Gillani also spoke about the various Final Year Project funding assistance programs offered by PEC to support young engineers in pursuing research opportunities. He emphasized the need for young engineers to take advantage of these programs to enhance their knowledge and skills and to contribute to the development of the engineering profession in Pakistan. He also highlighted formation of technical committees to enhance the credibility of engineering programs for like Capstone expo, Innovation expo, and All Punjab Universities Innovation Expo 2023.
The talk was attended by faculty members and students of the Department of Electrical Engineering, LCWU. The audience engaged in a lively discussion with Engr. Jawad Gillani, asked questions about the challenges facing young engineers in Pakistan and the future prospects for engineering education and research.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to Engr. Gillani for his informative talk and to the PEC for organizing the seminar at LCWU.
