World Stroke Day; “Together We are Greater than Stroke”
A Seminar on “Stroke Management and Prevention” was arranged at LCWU by the Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, Dept. of Pharmacology and Dept. of Pharmacognosy in collaboration with Martin Dow Ltd. A large number of students participated in the seminar. The Guest Speaker, Dr. Qasim Bashir, a renowned Clinical and interventional neurologist, educated students on the early recognition (FAST warning signs: Facial Dropping, Arm Weakness, Speech difficulties and Time), management and prevention of strokes. Students and faculty members also participated in a Stroke Awareness Walk.
Prof. Dr. Humaira Majeed Khan, Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Allied Health Sciences, appreciated the efforts of organizers (Dr. M. Salman, Dr. M. Tanveer Khan, and Dr. Ali Shariff) and sponsors to raise stroke awareness among students and gave souvenir to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation.
