Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (KBIC) Lahore College for Women University joined “All Punjab Universities Innovation Expo 2023” which was held on 20th November 2023 at Expo Center Lahore. LCWU co-hosted the event with PHEC. It served as an excellent platform for anchoring innovative ideas and blooming business ventures while also being a source of information for fresh talent and young minds. Around 500 projects from all over Punjab were shortlisted and displayed. 16 projects from the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering LCWU were showcased at the event.The expo featured innovative models, captivating presentations, and interactive stalls, providing a rich tapestry of insights for all participants. Dr. Shagufta Naz, the Vice Chancellor of LCWU, exemplified support for the aspiring youth by gracing the event as the chief guest. She visited the vibrant stalls set up by students, commending the effort put in. She participated in the panel talk and was very pleased with the performance of LCWU students and encouraged them to launch their products and ensured her full cooperation. Additionally, the LCWU faculty, alongside Dr. Saima Farhan [Chairperson of Computer Science Department], Dr. Ayesha Iqbal and Dr. Fatima from Computer Science, Dr. Taskeen Raza and Ms. Ismat Hira from Electrical Engineering Department Mr. Muhammad Yousaf and Ms. Nadia Tahir from K-BIC, played a pivotal role in guiding participants, reinforcing LCWU's commitment to fostering excellence.
Entrepreneurial Club enthusiastically joined the illuminating expo, seamlessly balancing learning and contribution. While the presentation of start-ups took center stage at the expo, the invaluable experience gained extended beyond the pitches. Learning through the exhilarating efforts of fellow participants, the Entrepreneurial Club members immersed themselves in a rich environment that offered exposure to the local market. This included insights into product development and commercialization, and fostering engaging Q&A sessions with aspiring entrepreneurs. The event was a platform not only to showcase startups but also to relish the unconventional knowledge gained from the diverse pool of participants.
A milestone was achieved through this expo when a project from the Electrical Engineering Department LCWU “Women Safety Device” secured the 2nd position, earning a substantial cash prize of Rs. 50,000 to support her venture. The collective dedication of the speakers, organizers, and participants played a pivotal role in elevating the success of the expo.
