On October 23, 2023, a lecture titled "Present Situation of Ummah and Our Responsibilities" was organized by Arabic Literary Society and Department of Arabic, Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning Lahore College for Women University, Lahore. Dean FIOL Dr. Faleha Zahra Kazmi attended the lecture as a special guest. Prof. Dr. Hamid Ashraf Hamdani, Chairman of the Department of Arabic, Punjab University, was invited as the guest speaker. In his lecture, he guided the students to understand their responsibilities as Muslims and emphasized on gaining awareness about the background of the current issues like Palestinian crisis. He suggested to keep in mind the divine laws regarding rise and fall of nations. He enlightened the students about the importance of attaining academic maturity in themselves. Financial Jihad was encouraged. Finally, a collective prayer was also held for the Muslim Ummah in general and for Palestine in particular. Students and teachers from other departments of the faculty attended the lecture with high interest. In the end, Dr. Quratul Ain Tahira, Incharge of the Arabic department thanked the guest speaker for his enlightening lecture.
