Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Department of Management Sciences and Meezan Bank Limited (MBL), Karachi

On August 12, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Department of Management Sciences and Meezan Bank Limited (MBL), Karachi. The signing ceremony was held under the esteemed patronage of the Vice Chancellor of LCWU, Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz, with key university figures including the Director of ORIC, Prof. Dr. Faiza Saleem, and Dr. Adeel Nasir, Chairperson of the Department of Management Sciences. Representing Meezan Bank Limited were Mr. Shayan Ahmed Baig, Executive Vice President; Mr. Anwar Ul Haq, Senior Executive Vice President; and Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Saad, Assistant Vice President. The MOU between Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) and Meezan Bank Limited (MBL) establishes a partnership focused on Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance. It aims to enhance academic and professional knowledge through joint participation in industry events. Key elements include financial grants from MBL for collaborative research, internship and job opportunities for LCWU students, and support for developing academic programs and faculty training. This collaboration advances Islamic finance education and strengthens ties between academia and industry.
