19-20 August, 2024: Career Guidance & Counseling Centre has organized two-day Workshop on Stress Management in Today’s World for faculty members of LCWU. Twenty-five faculty members from different faculties participated in the interactive workshop. Ms. Samina Uzair (Student Counselor/Clinical Psychologist) was the resource person of the workshop. The agenda of this workshop is to create work-life balance in the lives of faculty members through effective and experiential stress management strategies. Faculty members were also provided with the opportunity to assess their psychological distress. In this regard, the link and QR code of psychological distress scale was shared with participants.The workshop aims to highlight types and forms of stressors and their impact on human lives. The role of personality types and their relation to stress was also discussed in the workshop. Participants were asked to identify their triggers to stress and how they respond to it. Adaptive and maladaptive coping styles were discussed in detail, for better management of stress management circle of control, relaxation techniques, self-soothing skills, mindfulness, problem-focused coping, and emotion-focused coping were discussed with participants. Participants were asked to develop a self-management plan.
