HULT Prize LCWU in collaboration with Khadija Tul Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), organized a seminar entitled Empowering Change: Environmental Law and Sustainable Development , dated Feb 27, 2024.
The event, hosted by Ms. Kinza Mukhtar, Campus Director of HULT Prize LCWU, showcased the collaborative efforts between HULT Prize LCWU and Khadija Tul Kubra Business Incubation Center. Special guest speaker Sir Ahmad Rafay Alam addressed the audience, discussing Environmental Law, Legal Requirements of Business, Initial Environmental Examination, and the Environmental Impact Assessment. He delved into Pakistan's role in COP 28, emphasizing transparency, and addressing issues related to loss and damage funds.
Guest speaker, Ms. Rida Ashraf, Co-founder of Skillistan Foundation, shared insights into Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encouraged students to embrace greener business practices. She suggested Cybersecurity as a potential addition to the SDGs in Pakistan.
A vibrant question-and-answer session followed the guest speakers' presentations.
The event concluded with the presentation of Tokens of Appreciation to both speakers. Mr. Muhammad Yousaf, Business Development Officer K-BIC, Ms. Nadia Tahir and Ms. Maham Arif from Team K-BIC, and faculty members from the Department of sociology, Ms. Saima Najaf [English Department], Dr. Moneeza Abbas [Environmental Sciences], and Dr.Taskeen Raza [Electrical Engineering] also participated in the session.
In a closing note, the HULT Prize Campus Director LCWU expressed gratitude to all speakers, participants, and organizers for their dedication to advancing inclusive practice on sustainable development and empowering communities.
