The Prime Minister Talent Hunt Youth Women Judo Provincial League was triumphantly held at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore, under the auspices of the Prime Minister Youth Program. This vibrant event featured the enthusiastic participation of five regional teams from across Punjab province.
The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of distinguished guests including Mr. Sohail Shoukat Butt, Minister for Social Welfare & Bait Ul Mall Punjab; Prof. Amjad Ali Khan, Rector of Unique Group of Institutions; Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz, Vice Chancellor of LCWU and Ms. Uzma Akhtar Chughtai, Regional Head of FOSPAH.
The Lahore region emerged as the champion, securing the top position with an impressive haul of 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal. This stellar performance was guided by Coach Mr. Asif Iqbal Khan and Manager Ms. Anum Shafiq. The Sialkot region claimed the runner-up spot, while the Rawalpindi region finished in third place.
Mr. Sohail Shoukat Butt commended the Government of Pakistan, especially Chief Minister of Punjab Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for their steadfast support of youth sports. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in nurturing young talent and promoting women in sports.
Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz extended her heartfelt congratulations to the victorious players and expressed profound gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions to the event's success. She specifically thanked the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad, and the Incharge of HEC Sports Division, Mr. Javed Ali Memon, for providing the opportunity to host this significant sports event. Additionally, she acknowledged the dedication and hard work of Director Sports Dr. Sumera Sattar, the participants, coaches, and organizers, emphasizing the vital role of sports in empowering women and fostering healthy competition.
