Seminar on Diabetes and Preventive Lifestyles

Department of Zoology held a Seminar on Diabetes and Preventive Lifestyles  on November 28, 2024.

The speakers from KEU and FJMC talked about myths and reality about diabetes. Preventive measures for diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes, focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to reduce risk factors. Here are some key strategies:

1. Healthy Eating Habits

2. Regular Physical Activity

3. Maintain a Healthy Weight

4. Regular Check-ups and Monitoring

5. Stress Reduction

6. Adequate Sleep

7. Avoid Smoking and Limit Alcohol

8. Stay Hydrated

9. Be Aware of Risk

10. Monitor Medication for High-Risk

Individuals under the supervision of doctors.

Adopting these measures can greatly reduce the likelihood of developing diabetes and improve health.

The VC on the occasion appreciated the initiative of the Chairperson of the Department Dr Farzana and faculty members to raise awareness and help students understand how they can play an active role in raising awareness and engaging in research to find a cure for this health condition often stigmatized as a disease.

The students vowed to take the responsibility to raise awareness among other students, their families and neighborhood. They also showed interest to conduct research with practicing doctors and scientists in the area.
