New Series of Continuous Professional Development Workshops 2024 Launched by Electrical Engineering Department at LCWU
First Workshop on Transmission Tower Failure Held on 26th September 2024
The Department of Electrical Engineering at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has launched its highly anticipated 2024 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Workshop Series, with the first session taking place on 26th September 2024 with the workshop titled, “Transmission Line Tower Failure and Their Remedial Actions”.
The session featured Engr. Amir Sattar, Additional Manager at NTDC, WAPDA, as the resource person. Engr. Sattar provided deep insights into the technical causes behind transmission tower failures and offered practical solutions for addressing these issues. His extensive experience in the power transmission sector ensured participants left with a thorough understanding of critical challenges and modern remedial techniques.
The workshop was attended by students, academics, and professionals from the industry, including representatives from MASPRO Energy Pvt. Ltd., NESPAK, Sindh Building Control Authority, Fescon (Pvt) Limited, HUBCO, and the Institute of Electrical, Electronics & Computer Engineering, PU.
Held in the IT Conference Room at LCWU, the workshop served as a significant platform for knowledge-sharing and professional development. Students and industry professionals engaged in discussions, networking, and practical case studies, contributing to the development of future engineers and industry leaders.
This marks the beginning of an exciting lineup of CPD workshops organized by the Electrical Engineering Department, aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industrial experience.
The certificates were given to the guest speaker, Mr Amir Sattar, Additional Manager NTDC, WAPDA by Dr Sadia Murawwat, Chairperson of the Department of Electrical Engineering.
