Intra-University Seerat Quiz Competition organized by English Department, LCWU
The English Debating Society (EDS) in collaboration with the Fareeha Basit Khan Literary Society (FBKLS), Department of English, Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning, successfully organized the Intra-University Seerat Quiz Competition on August 28, 2025. Dr. Ammara Iqbal, Advisor to the EDS, and Ms Aisha Mumtaz, Advisor to the FBKLS, provided invaluable guidance and support for the event. The competition was held at the Seminar Hall, Department of City and Regional Planning, under the esteemed supervision of Dr. Amara Khan, Chairperson, Department of English.
Distinguished guests, Dr. Sumaira Sajid and Dr. Attique-ur-Rehman, graced the occasion, and saw enthusiastic participation from students across the university. The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, Darood, and a soul-stirring Naat, setting a spiritually uplifting tone.
The quiz comprised of three rounds, testing participants' knowledge of Islamic history, the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and general awareness on Islam. Team C (comprising Aima Amir and Fizza Nafees) from the Department of English, emerged victorious, followed closely by Team B (Hareem Shahbaz and Hafsa Mumtaz from the Department of Biotechnology) and Team A (Sameen Ejaz and Zainab Raza) from the Department of English.
In addition to the quiz, the event featured debates delivered by talented students from the English Debating Society. These speeches eloquently expressed the values taught by the Prophet (PBUH).
The event concluded on a spiritual note with a Salam session. The competition fostered faith, unity, and learning. It was a successful celebration of Ashra Rehmatul-Lil-Alamin.
