Prof. Dr. Zohra Nazir Kayani, Director, Directorate of Faculty Development & Internationalization (DFDI), LCWU attended the Steering Committee meeting of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) held on 26th November 2025 at 10:00 AM.
During the meeting, the Chairman PSF shared several upcoming initiatives aimed at strengthening research and scientific development in Pakistan. One of the key initiatives discussed was the plan to involve industrialists as Co-supervisors with PhD students. This step is intended to ensure stronger coordination between academic research and industry needs, ultimately enhancing the practical impact of research outcomes.
The Chairman also emphasized that all future research projects supported by PSF should be need-based, innovative, and aligned with Pakistan’s national priorities to contribute effectively to the country’s capacity building.
Additionally, it was highlighted that PSF is in the process of signing multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various countries to establish International Consortia and Joint Ventures aimed at promoting collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
Additionally, chairman PSF offered to organize a faculty development training program specifically for the faculty of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) to support skill enhancement and professional growth.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding of strengthening partnerships and fostering research that supports national development.
