LCWU Geography Department arranged one-day international Seminar on Tarbela Reservoir's Hydrodynamic Exploration
The Geographical Society of LCWU's Geography Department acknowledges the significance of understanding Tarbela Reservoir's hydrodynamic and sedimentation patterns. This international seminar held today December 12th, 2023 under the PERIDOT Research mobility grant of Dr.Nausheen Mazhar, Principal Investigator & Chairperson of Geography Department and Dr. Paul Pacy, PI from Geography Department, University of Paris, France. Dr. Sanaullah Sani, Co-PI, Assistant Professor, Institute of Geology, University of the Punjab also joined the event. Sabine vermillard, scientific attaché from French Embassy also graced the occasion with her presence. Mr. Ghulam Ali Varaich, Senior Officer, Electronics (R) Tarbela Dam and Dr. Yasir Abbas, Chief Engineer, Modelling team in Water & Agriculture Division, NESPAK also shared their experts reviews. Senior geographers including Former Director Institute of Geography, University of the Punjab, Prof. Dr. Safdar Ali Shirazi, Former Head of department Prof. Dr. Ali Iqtidar Mirza and heads of other educational institutions also joined the event. This seminar aims to contribute valuable insights for water resource management, environmental preservation, infrastructure planning, and historical comprehension.
