Department of Gender and Development Studies conducted an interactive panel discussion on "Advocacy Health Rights and Youth-Friendly Health Services" to fostering health equity and empowering youth in collaboration with Youth Advocacy Network (YAN) Pakistan on 26th April, 2024. This discussion was conducted under the Leadership of worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz and support of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with the aim of spreading awareness about adolescents' health and healthy eating habits among youth.Ms. Samina Ashraf, Regional Director Punjab, Rahnuma-FPAP, Mr. Danish Tariq, Governing Board Member, YAN/ Senior Communication Officer, Chanan Development Association (CDA), Dr. Uzair Amjad, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, UMT Lahore, Wajid Zahid, Youth Advocate & Peace Activist were key panelist of the event. Mr. Junaid Tahir, Program Coordinator, YAN talked about peace and health among young generation and welcomed the efforts of Ms. Fizzah Gardezi, Manager, Stakeholder Engagement Cell, WILL. By welcoming the panelists and YAN representatives, Dr. Uzma Ashiq Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Gender and Development Studies appreciated this great opportunity for GDS’s students to take part in such youth advocacy programs and said that department will continue such collaborations with YAN for its students’ educational and professional capacity building. The panelists shed light on the critical need for accessible, high quality healthcare services tailored to the needs of young people and to advocate their fundamental rights.
