2 Days Training on Micro-Counselling Skills

A two-day faculty training on micro-counselling skills was conducted by the Career Guidance and Counselling Centre, LCWU as part of its capacity-building program. Newly inducted intermediate faculty members attended the sessions, led by  campus psychologists Ms. Mamoona Riaz and Ms. Samina Uzair. The training focused on the importance of emotional health, active listening, and empathy in facilitating students' well-being. Participants were engaged in interactive discussions, practical exercises, and role-play activities to develop their micro-counselling techniques. The role-play sessions allowed faculty to practice active listening, ask open-ended questions, paraphrase skills, and respond with empathy. By emphasizing emotional health and effective communication, the training aimed to empower faculty to create a supportive learning environment. The centre has taken significant steps towards addressing students' holistic development and promoting mental well-being. Training also helped to foster academic success and emotional resilience. The training was held from 29th-30th August, 2024.
