Online Continuous Professional Development Seminar on "Future of Smart City" Organized by DEE, LCWU in Collaboration with PEC, 19th December 2024
The Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), in collaboration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), successfully conducted an online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar on the topic "Future of Smart City" on December 19, 2024. This event aimed to provide a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among professionals, students, and faculty members, focusing on the transformative potential of smart city technologies in shaping sustainable urban futures.
The seminar featured an insightful presentation by the esteemed resource person, Mr. Muhammad Atif Jamil, a seasoned Solution Director and expert in Smart City technologies, 5G, IoT, and AI. Mr. Atif shed light on the latest advancements in smart city development, including the integration of digital solutions to enhance urban infrastructure, improve resource efficiency, and create more livable environments. His in-depth analysis and practical examples inspired attendees to consider innovative approaches to urban planning and development.
A diverse group of professionals from leading organizations actively participated in the seminar, including representatives from Fescon (Pvt) Limited, Sindh Building Control Authority, Solutions Engineering Pvt Ltd, FESCON Pvt Ltd, Energy Alternatives, and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
The presence of industry experts, such as project engineers, assistant directors, marketing executives, and academic professionals, enriched the discussions and highlighted the real-world challenges and opportunities associated with smart city initiatives.
In addition to professionals, students and faculty members of LCWU attended the seminar with great enthusiasm. The event provided them with valuable insights into the future of urban development and the role of emerging technologies in addressing pressing urban challenges such as population growth, environmental sustainability, and resource optimization
The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where participants actively interacted with Mr. Atif Jamil.
