20th Convocation Ceremony of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU)
 
3rd May, 2025: The 20th Convocation of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) was held with grandeur and academic pride, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history. The ceremony was presided over by the Honorable Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the University, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.
 
This year, a total of 5,010 graduates from BS, MS, and M.Phil. programs, along with 94 Ph.D. scholars from LCWU and its affiliated colleges, were conferred degrees. With 18,658 students currently enrolled, the university continues to play a pivotal role in advancing women's education in Pakistan.
 
In his address, the Chancellor congratulated the graduates and commended their hard work and perseverance. He emphasized the importance of quality education, stating that true education is a combination of knowledge, skills, and ethical values. He highlighted that good character is as vital as academic achievement and encouraged female graduates to take inspiration from the lives and teachings of prominent Islamic women known for their exemplary character and contributions to society.
 
The Chancellor also reiterated his commitment to ensuring that universities in Punjab uphold international best practices and merit. He praised LCWU for its disciplined and harmonious environment and lauded the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi for maintaining high academic and administrative standards.
 
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, in her address, expressed profound gratitude to the Honorable Chancellor, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, for his support and leadership. She also extended her appreciation to the Pro-Chancellor, Rana Sikandar Hayat and the Government of Punjab, particularly acknowledging Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the province’s first female Chief Minister, for her unwavering support of the university’s mission. Dr. Quraishi also recognized the valuable contributions of LCWU’s partners, alumni, media collaborators, faculty, and staff.
 
The convocation concluded with a strong reaffirmation of LCWU’s dedication to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and the empowerment of women through transformative education.
 
4th May ,2025: The Second Day of the 20th Convocation of LCWU was marked by the presence of Mr. Qasim Ali Shah, in the capacity of a philanthropist, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was specially invited in recognition of his outstanding contributions as a philanthropist and education advocate. Mr. Shah has played a pivotal role in supporting the academic journey of numerous students by generously funding scholarships and facilitating valuable internship opportunities. In her address, the Vice Chancellor expressed heartfelt appreciation for Mr Shah's continued support and extended her thanks to the Alumni to underscore the critical importance of collective efforts in ensuring equitable access to quality higher education for all students. Mr Qasim Ali Shah in his brief address highlighted importance of women's education. He also expressed his gratitude to the university as his mother and sisters had also studied at LCWU. This he said compelled him to support the university and it's students.
