Geography Department LCWU is proud to share that Ms. Nimra Arshad, PhD student at the Department of Geography, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), has returned to Pakistan after completing a prestigious one-month international research fellowship at Université Paris Cité, France. This opportunity was part of the PERIDOT Phase IX Research Grant 2023 under the Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) for Franco-Pakistani scientific collaboration, led by Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Principal Investigator of the Project and Chairperson, Department of Geography, LCWU.
During her fellowship: Ms. Nimra Arshad presented her findings in an international seminar titled:
“Hydrological Modelling using SWAT Model to Monitor Sedimentation Trends in Upper Indus Basin and its Impacts on Tarbela Reservoir from 1994 to 2023” held at Université Paris Cité.
She visited Sorbonne University, engaging with world-renowned researchers, exploring future collaborations, and learning cutting-edge sedimentation management and water sustainability techniques.
Her visit led to international linkages with climatologists, hydrologists, data visualization experts, and software engineers—strengthening Pakistan’s research footprint in reservoir modelling and climate adaptation.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in Nimra’s PhD. journey and reflects the growing global academic presence of LCWU.
It is a matter of pride for LCWU to see its scholars contributing to global scientific dialogue and returning with enriched knowledge and collaborations that benefit both local and international academic communities.
