ORIC LCWU, in collaboration with Hamayuns Legal & IP Consultants, conducted a hybrid workshop titled “Safeguarding Innovation and Creativity” on June 23, 2025, focusing on IP rights and best practices for social and applied sciences.
Led by Mr. Saad Nusrullah, a WIPO-Certified IP Trainer and Attorney, the workshop covered three key areas:
1. Basics of Intellectual Property Rights in academia
2. IP disclosure processes and best practices
3. Trademark registration and protection strategies
The interactive session was attended by ORIC focal persons, faculty, PhD scholars, and K‑BIC entrepreneurs, highlighting the vital role IP plays in supporting commercialization and technology transfer within the university.
The workshop was organized by the ORIC team including Director Prof. Dr. Faiza Saleem, Senior Managers Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, Dr. Moneeba Iftikhar and Dr. Nudra Malik, Ms. Saleha shaukat (Deputy Registrar), Ms. Saima Gulzar and team members Ms. Momina and Ms. Laiba.
ORIC LCWU expressed its gratitude to Mr. Nusrullah for sharing valuable insights and reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more such training programs to build a strong culture of innovation and IP protection within the university.
