Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) successfully hosted a two-day Capacity Building Workshop under the USAID–HEC Merit and Need-Based Scholarship Program. The workshop, titled “Pathways to Career Counseling and Practical Guide to Soft Skills”, was designed to equip scholarship holders from across Pakistan with essential tools to excel in both academic and professional spheres. Special focus was given to students from flood-affected regions such as Rajanpur and Multan, ensuring that opportunities for growth and learning remain accessible to all.
The closing Ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor LCWU; officials from USAID; the esteemed resource persons Mr. Asim (Instructor, CSA) and Mr. Abdul Ghaffar (Director, Student Financial Aid Office, LCWU) along with representatives from HEC and the dedicated SFAO team of LCWU.
Throughout the two days, participants actively engaged in sessions and later shared their reflections. While giving their feedback the participants emphasized the significance of such initiatives in preparing them with the right skills, knowledge, and professional mindset to succeed in their future careers. They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the LCWU team for their warm hospitality and continuous support during the workshop.
In her closing address, Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue their journey of self-growth and lifelong learning. She appreciated the efforts of HEC and USAID for their unwavering commitment to empowering youth—not only by providing access to education but also by nurturing critical thinking, communication, and civic responsibility.
Addressing the scholarship holders, she highlighted that such platforms provide more than technical expertise: they instill communicative competence, confidence, and professional ethics—qualities essential for building successful careers and contributing positively to society. She further emphasized that the youth are the intellectual capital of the nation, and with the right guidance and opportunities, they can lead Pakistan towards a brighter future.
