Empowering Faculty with New-Age Communication Skills

The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), in collaboration with the Department of STEM Education, organized an insightful workshop on “Industry–Academia Linkages & Entrepreneurship through Social Media.”

The session aimed to equip LCWU faculty with contemporary digital communication skills to enhance their academic visibility, strengthen industry linkages, and translate research into entrepreneurial opportunities.

Led by Mr. Usman Ahmad Bhatti (Senior Journalist & Advisor to the Prime Minister), the workshop redefined how educators perceive social media—from a casual medium to a strategic instrument for thought leadership, influence, and impact.

Honorable Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor, LCWU, graced the occasion and shared her visionary perspective on digital literacy as a critical academic competency and an essential driver of LCWU’s innovation and outreach agenda. She appreciated ORIC’s continuous efforts in faculty development and capacity building, emphasizing that such initiatives reflect the university’s commitment to fostering a digitally empowered and industry-responsive academic ecosystem.

At the closing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor distributed souvenirs and certificates among the participants and organizers, commending their enthusiasm for learning and growth.

This workshop marks another milestone in ORIC-LCWU’s vision to bridge academia and industry through digital innovation, empowering faculty members to become global ambassadors of knowledge, research, and entrepreneurship.
