Breaking Barriers: Education and Equity for Women’s Empowerment

The Department of Social Work organized a seminar on 22 April 2026, in collaboration with Bunyad Foundation, on the topic of "Women Empowerment: Addressing Educational Disparities and Socio-Economic Challenges." Distinguished speakers were included Ms. Shaheen Attiq-ur-Rahman (ex-Minister, Social Welfare), Vice Chairperson and Founder of Bunyad Foundation, Dr. Tahira Jabeen, Associate Professor, Department of Social Work, University of the Punjab and Prof. Dr. Uzma Ashiq, Chairperson, Department of Social Work, University of the Punjab. Their contributions highlighted the importance of community support, quality education, and empowerment for women and their families. This activity was aligned with SGDs 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
