POSTGRADUATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Application submission Process:

• Application may be addressed to the Vice Chancellor. Applications may be submitted on a plain paper
  along with detail of academic qualifications, research experience, and publications. A letter of recommendations
  from the Head of the organization where the person is engaged in work must also accompany the application including
  all terms and conditions for leave period during post doc. The application must include a summary of the research project,
  the a cant wishes to pursue at the University.A certificate of good health, signed by a physician, will have to be submitted
  by the candidate along with application form.Age limit of scholar for this initiative is 55 years.
• The Mentor/supervisor shall ensure that all required documents have been attached with the application. Detailed project
  must be submitted along with the application for approval from Evaluation committee.
• Candidate shall submit complete application to her Mentor; she will submit it to Dean Office for evaluation process.
• Application processing fee i.e.:Pkr 5000/- will be deposited by the candidate in University account and bank Callan
  copy will be attached with application.

Application Review Process

Evaluation committee comprising following members; will evaluate application, research proposal, final report
submitted by the scholar.

• Director ORIC
• Director Academic
• Dean of relevant faculty of the subject
• Chairperson of the concerned department

• The project must have approved by the committee. Mentor will get this approval by the committee.
• On receipt of the application, the Dean of the faculty shall call meeting and review application. Along
  with the recommendation of the committee the case
  will be submitted for presentation to the Advance Studies and Research Board for approval.
• In case of greater number of candidates as compared to vacancy available, Committee will evaluate/interview
  (Physically or virtual) and will recommend/short list
  the candidates (with one alternate) in the order of merit. Final approval will be granted by the Vice Chancellor.
• The Vice-Chancellor, after receiving recommendation from the Advances Studies and Research Board,
  shall finally approve the Registration / admission of
  Post Doc Fellowship.
• The Registrar shall notify the letter of award clearly stating the terms of the award.
• Registration / admission fee structure will be followed same as defined by the University of the
  Punjab Policy i.e. (Notification No. D/689/Acad dated: 12-2-2026); "Upon admission to Post Doe the
  semester fee shall be paid by
  the candidate (as applicable in the first two semesters of PhD).

Duration of the Fellowship

Post-doctoral fellowship shall be awarded for a period of one year in the first instance. The fellowship may be
extended for a further period of one year with the permission/ recommendation of funding source. The extension
shall be granted by the same authority approving the award of fellowship in the first instance, but the recommendation
of the departmental Chairman (Chairperson) and the Dean Faculty Shall be obligatory. All request for extension shall
be accompanied by the statement about the work accomplished during the period of award and work proposed to be
completed during the extension period. The Length of the fellowship and its extension for foreign citizen will be subject
to approval by their funding agencies as well as the parent department in case of employee.

e) Accommodation

Accommodation in student hostel on campus will be provided subject to availability as per hostel rules being
observed by the hostel management.

f) Termination of Fellowship

The continuation of the fellowship is also subjected to the satisfactory quarterly report by the Mentor/host
scientist. Fellowship will be terminated if;

• Any breach of the code of ethics defined by the University.
• Discontinue with special permission for a period of more than six months.
• Discontinue for a period of two months without permission.
• Unsatisfactory report by the Host Scientist/Supervisor.
• Fellows themselves can get their fellowship terminated.

Award of Post Doc Certificate

Candidate shall submit complete research report to her mentor. She shall get its approval from evaluation
committee before submission to ASRB.

After approval/recommendation from ASRB, certificate signed by Mentor, Chairperson of Department,
Dean Faculty and The Vice Chancellor will be awarded.

h) Working required by the University:

• Keeping in view pre request for the fellowship program, registrar office will develop a registration form
  and get its approval from at least ASRB.
